Rubro-Negro returns to the Maracanãzinho court this Tuesday (21), against Fortaleza
By Isabela Abirached - inOn Sunday night (19), Orgulho da Nação reached its tenth victory in 11 games for Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). Facing Unifacisa, at Maracanãzinho, the red-black team took advantage of a good advantage gained in the second quarter and won comfortably by 89 to 70.

Olivinha was the top scorer for Mais Querido, with 19 points, closely followed by Brandon Robinson, with 18. Mineiro was the leader in rebounds, with ten, and also scored seven points; Yago reached 15 points and seven assists and was also a standout.
The game
The match started off fiercely, with Flamengo taking the lead, but their opponents managed to turn the score around with halfway through the period remaining. In the final two minutes, the teams alternated the lead, and the referee called interference on Balbi's three-point attempt. With the points, Flamengo won the first quarter, 19-18.
Flamengo scored first in the second quarter, but Dar Tucker connected from outside the perimeter to give Flamengo the lead back. The closeness of the previous quarter didn't repeat itself: with more three-pointers falling from the Mais Querido, with Mineiro, Yago, Olivinha, and Luke Martinez—as the clock expired—coach Gustavo De Conti's men took a commanding 45-29 lead.
After the break, Unifacisa attempted a comeback, opening up an 11-16 lead, but Flamengo came back to level the score with two minutes remaining (18-18) and turned it around at the final buzzer (25-23). The advantage built in the second period kept the Rubro-Negro ahead with ease for the final ten minutes: the team went into the final quarter winning 70-52.
The final period was also evenly matched, but with poor shooting from both teams. In the final moments, the balls began to fall, and the score closed at 19-18, securing another victory for Mengão.
Next appointment
Mengão returns to the court for the NBB next Tuesday (21), for the match against Fortaleza, also at Maracanãzinho, the Pride of the Nation's last home game this year.
