Last Friday (July 31.07), the coach of the Brazilian basketball team, Rubén Magnano, called up the players who will participate in a series of international championships in August and September. And, in keeping with its importance in the sport, Flamengo had four athletes called up, in addition to two members of the coaching staff.

JP Batista, Olivinha, and Rafa Luz, who participated in the gold medal-winning campaign at the Pan American Games in Toronto, have been called up again. Winger Marquinhos rounds out the squad with his experience. Magnano's assistant, Flamengo coach José Neto, and fitness coach Diego Falcão are also joining the national team.

The group will participate in a series of training sessions leading up to four tournaments. On August 7th and 9th, an international challenge for the sport will take place in Brasília. Afterward, Brazil will travel to Buenos Aires, where they will compete in the Four Nations Tournament on August 14th and 15th. The next stop is in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the Tuto Marchand Cup, from August 23rd to 27th. Concluding the trip, between August 31st and September 12th, the team will participate in the Copa América in Mexico, which also serves as a pre-Olympic tournament.
