FlaBasquete trains in Manaus for the Millions Classic
Team prepares to face Vasco this Saturday (11.03)
By Isabel Oberg - inThe Pride of the Nation landed in Manaus on Wednesday afternoon (08) for the classic against Vasco, and the team's preparation in the city in the north of the country is already in full swing. Coach José Neto led the Mais Querido's first training session at Arena Amadeu Teixeira, the chosen venue for the match, on Wednesday night itself and, on Thursday morning, the squad returned to the court to continue the work.
The match against Vasco is part of the 25th round of the NBB CAIXA 9, a championship in which Flamengo is the current four-time champion. The FlaBasquete team returns to the court this Thursday for another evening training session. José Neto commented on their preparations for the classic:
"We have an important game to maintain our lead in the championship in a city that I'm sure will embrace Flamengo basketball, and the packed gym will push us to victory. The idea was to arrive a little early to get acclimated and be better prepared for the match. The time is unusual, as it's at 13 p.m. local time, so we're adapting to be ready for the game. These training sessions here are very important," explained the Flamengo coach.
