Once again on an inspired afternoon, the Pride of the Nation won another State Basketball Championship, this Saturday (25.10), in Gávea. Playing with a mixed team, the red-blacks defeated the Super Basketball League (LSB) by 99 to 56. With the victory, the Most Beloved guaranteed first place in the classification phase of the championship and plays the first game of the finals this Monday (27.10), against Macaé, at the opponent's home.

Showing great confidence, the young red-and-black squad, which will debut in the LDB next Tuesday (October 27.10), stayed on the court most of the time to prepare for its next challenge. Despite many starters being rested, the team did not disappoint. Passing the ball quickly and demonstrating great maturity on the court, the youngsters opened up a large lead in the first quarter. Assisted by Danielzinho, Felício, and Chupeta, who were with the starting lineup in the friendly series held in the United States, the Pride of the Nation closed the first quarter 23-12. Despite the LSB trying to close the gap, the red-and-blacks did not let up and maintained their strong performance, closing the first half 45-28.

In the second half, the more experienced players spent more time off the court, which didn't change the pace of the match. With plenty of intensity, the young red-and-blacks closed the third quarter 26-14. To top off the team's strong performance in the first half of the championship, the team closed the match 99-56, with Chupeta leading the score.

From the team that played today, all players, with the exception of the match's leading scorer and Felício, travel tomorrow to face Pinheiros, for the start of the LDB. The rest of the team remains in the final stage of the State Championship.
