In addition to FlaBasquete, San Pablo Burgos (ESP), Lakeland Magic (USA) and Zamalek SC (EGI) are competing for the title. The draw will take place in early 2022.

The reigning Champions League of the Americas champions, the Pride of the Nation, are seeking their second world title. The Most Beloved won the tournament in 2014, after two games against Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel, in Rio de Janeiro. Among the opponents this season, the home team will be the first African team to compete in the championship, having won the inaugural FIBA ​​Basketball Africa League.

The Spanish team San Pablo Burgos is defending its Intercontinental Cup title, while the Lakeland Magic is also making its tournament debut. The Orlando Magic's affiliate won the NBA G League in the 2020-21 season.
