FlaBasquete defeats Botafogo with a double-double from Balbi and advances to the Super 8 final
Olivinha and Varejão were top scorers with 22 points each; Mengo faces Franca in the final

Let's go, Final! FlaBasquete beat Botafogo 99x88 this Thursday (27) and secured a spot in the Super 8 final. Anderson Varejão, Olivinha and Franco Balbi were outstanding on the court and added 60 points for Mais Querido in the classic.
Flamengo started the match in stunning fashion. With a strong offensive performance, the Red-Blacks scored 28 points in the first period and demonstrated their potential with Olivinha and Anderson Varejão's dominance in the paint.
In the second quarter, with Wesley Mogi's attacks, Botafogo improved and began to make life difficult for the "Mais Querido." Despite a more even game, "Pride of the Nation" maintained the lead, containing the black and white team's attacks with good defensive work from Jhonatan Luz and Kevin Crescenzi.
After halftime, the Flamengo attack came out swinging. With a stellar performance from Argentine maestro Franco Balbi, who recorded a double-double (16 points and 12 assists), Flamengo took off and sealed its spot in the Super 8 final. With the referee's whistle, it was 99-88 for the Traditional Team and another step closer to the title.
FlaBasquete takes to the court to decide the Super 8 Cup next Saturday (29), at 14 pm, against Franca, at the Pedrocão gym. The match will be broadcast by Band.
