FlaBasquete defeats Toros 110-65 and ends the BCLA group stage in first place

With the pivots standing out, the Pride of the Nation wins with a century-old score

With a strong performance from Jordan Williams and the centers, FlaBasquete defeated the Toros 110-65 and finished the Basketball Champions League Americas (BCLA) group stage in first place for the sixth time in Group B. The Pride of the Nation's first match in the next stage is against Paisas in the quarterfinals. The match will be a best-of-three and is worth a spot in the Final Four.

1st Bedroom

The game started lively with points for both teams. Taya scored FlaBasquete's first points. Five minutes in, the center scored another basket, and of the Pride of the Nation's 14 points, Taya scored eight. Three minutes into the game, Lucas Siewert dunked to extend the lead. The first quarter ended 8-29.


2st Bedroom

FlaBasquete started the second half dominating with Jordan and Balbi. The opposing team managed to score, but nothing compared to the red-and-black attack. The Pride of the Nation showed more of its offensive power late in the half with Ruan Miranda, who scored 12 points in the quarter, and FlaBasquete went into halftime leading 55-36.


3st Bedroom

With strong play from the Flamengo pivots, FlaBasquete returned from halftime maintaining its rhythm. The first points of the half were scored by Ruan. Jordan and Lucas soon followed, securing points from outside the paint to increase the Pride of the Nation's lead, which closed the third quarter at 87-49.


4st Bedroom

In the final quarter, FlaBasquete continued to pressure the Toros, who even managed to score points early in the quarter, but soon after, the Orgulho da Nação took control of the half. With four minutes remaining, Jhonatan scored a 4-pointer that secured FlaBasquete's 3th consecutive score and a lead of over 40 points. The match ended 110-65.



Next challenge

FlaBasquete returns to the courts on Thursday (13), at 20 pm, to face Fortaleza at Tijuca Tênis Clube for the NBB.
