A tremendous victory, without a doubt. Flamengo dominated Vasco this Saturday afternoon at Arena Carioca 1, winning 90-70 and achieving their seventh victory in the NBB. It was a triumph with historic moments. During the game, Marquinhos reached the milestone of 6,000 points scored in the NBB and also finished with 15 points, the second-highest scorer of the game, behind Olivinha, who scored 18, grabbed 10 rebounds and achieved another double-double in his career. Davi, with 11, and Varejão, with 10, also stood out.

It was another match where Flamengo's defensive system once again excelled. They grabbed 42 rebounds, 10 more than their opponents. The victory doesn't put Flamengo back in the lead due to their winning percentage. Franca has one game less and won't play this week because of the South American League. Flamengo, on the other hand, will face São José on the 14th in São Paulo, and Paulistano on the 16th in the São Paulo capital, before focusing on the continental competition.

The game itself was never balanced. The final advantage was built entirely in the first half. With an already outstanding performance from Marquinhos, who scored 15 points, the Pride of the Nation finished the first 20 minutes with a 27-point lead (51-24), which gave the team confidence for the rest of the game. The second quarter alone was 31-15, a massacre with the trio of Marquinhos, Deryk, and Olivinha shining.

The second half saw a more evenly matched game, although Flamengo still held a significant advantage. The third quarter ended 22-19 for Flamengo, showing a Vasco da Gama comeback that culminated in a 10-point victory for their rivals, but it wasn't enough to diminish the overall scoreline.
