Flamengo crushes Maringá and starts well in the 2019 LDB

Debut on the right foot at Tijuca Tênis Clube. On Wednesday afternoon (24), Flamengo beat Maringá 91-23 and secured a good debut in the Brazilian Interclub Championship – Basketball Development League (LDB). The highlight of the match was Pedro Nunes, who played his first game with the Sacred Mantle and scored 18 points.

The red-and-black team's strong performance was reflected in the comfortable result. Playing at home, Flamengo controlled the match from start to finish, opening a strong lead in the first quarter, winning 21-9. The second quarter remained the same, and thanks to a strong defense, Maringá was unable to react. The score was 44-14 at halftime.

Conceding few points, it was only a matter of time before the lead grew significantly. With strong performances from Pedro, Ruan, Matheus Weber, and Matheusinho, the team coached by Rodrigo Leonardo 'Galego' prevailed and won the period 73-21. Trailing only two points in the final quarter, the opening victory came with a solid 91-23 score.

The Most Beloved returns to the Tijuca court this Thursday (25), again at 13 pm, to face União Corinthians.
