Flamengo remains undefeated in the State Basketball Championship. The red-and-black team defeated Iguaçu 123-54 on Thursday night (November 11.11), securing their ninth consecutive victory in the competition. The next challenge, in the final round of the second half, will be on Sunday (November 14.11), against Tijuca, at 11 am, at the Tijuca Tênis Clube gymnasium. The match will be part of the club's 115th anniversary celebrations on the 15th. Marcelinho was the top scorer of the match with 36 points.

Without Duda, Jefferson, and Helio, who were injured, and Teichmann, who was rested, Flamengo took a while to find its feet. The first quarter ended 26-15. In the second quarter, with a stronger defense, Iguaçu only managed to score after four minutes. The lead reached 27 points (44-17), and the red-and-black team went into halftime leading 59-21. The third quarter was a real walk in the park for Flamengo. With the lead reaching over 50 points, coach Paulo Chupeta sent all his juniors onto the court. And the standard didn't drop: 95-37 to Flamengo. In the final quarter, it was just a matter of managing the lead: 123-54.

"It was an important game to bring the team together. The next game, against Tijuca, will be more difficult, and the team is gaining chemistry. Of course, there's the downside of fatigue, as several players are injured. But those who are playing are getting to know each other better," analyzed coach Paulo Chupeta.

Flamengo started with: Marcelinho (36), Guto (17), Fred (6), Wagner (11) and Bábby (24). Entered: Átila (8), Marcelão (4), Guilherme (13), Ricardo (2) and Luiz (2).
