FlaBasquete debuted with a victory in NBB 12! Away from home, the Rubro-Negro defeated Minas Gerais 93-85 with a strong performance (seven players reached double digits in scoring). American Zach Graham, who scored 17 points, was the team's top scorer in the duel.

O JOGO

Setting a strong offensive pace, Flamengo went all out and gave their opponent no chance in the first quarter. With excellent plays from Franco Balbi, consistently capitalized on by Léo Demetrio and Rafael Mineiro in the paint, the team opened up a ten-point lead and managed to hold on. Marquinhos and Zach Graham also hit three-pointers, crucial to keeping the score at 32-20.

The second period was evenly matched, but even so, the Pride of the Nation continued to lead by virtually the same margin. Léo Demetrio, Marquinhos, and Zach Graham (who had a 100% success rate until then) took the blame on several occasions, and on defense, Jhonatan Luz and Olivinha did the job. That was enough for the eventual 52-38 victory.

In the third quarter, the tone of the match remained the same. Olivinha capitalized on his opportunities, and Zach Graham continued to hit his shots, as did Rafael Mineiro. Jhonatan Luz excelled and helped extend the lead to 76-58.

The final ten minutes were unlike any other. Minas evened the score and even cut the lead to two points, but the experience of Gustavo De Conti's team prevailed. Marquinhos grabbed a crucial rebound with fifty seconds remaining, and Franco Balbi converted his free throws. In the end, it was just a matter of running out the clock and confirming the positive result in the first match of the national competition: 93-85.
