On Saturday night (24), Flamengo played a perfect game against Palmeiras, winning 70-52, and becoming undefeated champion of the Brazilian Interclub Championship Under-18. In front of a good crowd at the Tijuca Tênis Clube gymnasium, the Rubro-Negro only trailed in the opening minutes. Then, they took off. With an excellent defense and an efficient attack, the team fulfilled the tactical plan made by Rodrigo Galego together with his Technical Committee and was successful.

The standout performers of the triumph were Ruan (19 points and 16 rebounds), Matheus Maciel (19 points and 13 rebounds), and Gabriel Andrade (14 points). Maciel was even named MVP of the final and received the award from Gustavo De Conti. Dominant, the center surrounded his opponents in the paint and hit some shots from outside. Magno and Joãozinho, who were part of the starting five, were also crucial. Off the bench, Igor Gabriel and João César played very well.

The title crowns an excellent campaign for the Crias da Gávea. Regardless of who was on the other side of the court, the boys remained focused throughout the competition and improved. In their six victories, a strong connection was evident among the athletes. Therefore, the result could not have been different.

The basketball teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo receive funding from their sponsors – BRB, TIM, AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR) and the State Incentive Law/Rio de Janeiro State Secretariat of Sports, Recreation, and Youth (Seelje), in addition to support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources generated by the Pelé Law. The Anjo da Guarda Rubro-Negro Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the Most Beloved.
