Flamengo can win, this Wednesday (07.11), its first title of the 2012/2013 season. The team faces Tijuca, at 20 pm, at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium, in Gávea, in the second game of the best of three of the State basketball finals. In the first game, last Monday (05.11), the red-black victory by 108 x 79, in Tijuca. Entry is free.
Flamengo, champion from 2005 to 2011, is seeking its eighth consecutive title in the competition. In total, the Gávea club has lifted the state trophy 37 times. The team is undefeated in this edition of the tournament: so far, they have won seven of their seven matches (six in the first and second leg and one in the final series).
At Flamengo since August, coach José Neto is very close to his first title in charge of the team:
"I believe that the title is the goal to be achieved when Flamengo competes in a competition! We are working to have a team capable of achieving this goal. So far, we have done what we had to do and we need to take one more step. The team has responded very well and adapted quickly to the work proposal. I hope to continue growing and, consequently, bring joy to the red-and-black nation," said the coach.
