Flamengo defeated Tijuca 70-53 and remains top of the Brazilian Development League qualifying round. At the Olympic Arena in São Sebastião do Paraíso, Minas Gerais, Flamengo secured their seventh consecutive victory and maintained their 100% record in the competition. The standout performer was Douglas, who finished as the top scorer with 23 points.

"The game was tight. Regional derbies are always like that. We managed to overcome our difficulties to achieve victory," said Rubro-Negro coach Paulo Chupeta. "Douglas is a technical player and is getting the job done. In attack, he's sharing the responsibility with Diego and Chupeta," the coach added, praising the match's top scorer.

Flamengo returns to the court this Wednesday afternoon (03.07), again in São Sebastião do Paraíso. The opponent is Basquete Cearense and the game is scheduled to start at 14 pm.
