Flamengo and Limeira took to the court at the Paulo Sarasate Gymnasium in Fortaleza for the semifinals of the Basketball Development League (LDB). In a thrilling match, the Red-Blacks won by just three points—earned in overtime—and advanced to the final.

The victory qualified Flamengo for the LDB 2015 final. The opponent will come from the clash between Paulistano and Basquete Cearense, a match that takes place this Monday (09.03). The final takes place on Tuesday (10.03), at 19:30 pm.

The game

The first quarter saw few points. The teams fought hard for the ball, and the score barely changed. Higor and Matheus scored three-pointers that put the São Paulo team ahead. For Flamengo, Diego was the first to score, followed by Mingau, who hit two free throws, and Chupeta, reducing the opponent's lead. Still, at the end of the first half, the score was 9-6 for the São Paulo team.

The second quarter arrived, and both teams showed less nervousness. Limeira scored more baskets and began trying to increase its lead, but the Pride of the Nation consistently stayed on its heels and prevented the gap from widening. On the contrary, it narrowed. Flamengo led by one point, but the second quarter ended 24-23, again in Limeira's favor.

The excitement of the previous half was repeated in the third quarter, only this time with Flamengo taking the lead. Even though the São Paulo team never stopped fighting for the result, FlaBasquete relied on a great performance from Felício to close out the third half with a 45-36 victory.

Thus, the Pride of the Nation began the final quarter controlling the score. The teams were tied for a long time during the half, but the Red-Blacks used the advantage they had gained throughout the game to maintain their lead. Despite the score difference, the Limeira team was brave and managed to equalize and even turn the game around. Until, with less than a minute remaining on the clock, Felício converted two free throws and leveled the score again. At the final whistle, the tie forced overtime.

The extra period arrived, and Mingau turned well to score a basket and put Flamengo ahead. The lead was extended by Felício and Chupeta. Despite the opponent's four points in overtime, Flamengo ended the game at 57-54.
