FlaBasquete is getting stronger for the upcoming season. Point guard Humberto, a 2013 Liga das Américas champion with Pinheiros, is Flamengo's newest signing. Besides him, after renewing Marquinhos and Benite's contracts, the club also kept Marcelinho and Gegê on coach José Neto's team until June 2016. Olivinha and Jerome Meyinsse, who will be in the second year of their contracts, complete the already announced group.

"I'm very happy to stay at Flamengo until the end of the season. I've never hidden from anyone that this was my goal, because of my identification with the club, with the fans and the fact that this is 'my home'. We have a season full of important commitments ahead of us," revealed Marcelinho, who already had a contract until December and extended it.

Gegê, currently on the Brazilian national team competing in the Universiade with Humberto in Korea, has renewed his contract for one year. "I'm very, very happy to be able to renew my contract with Flamengo for another year. Everyone already knows how much I feel about the club, so being able to play another season with the Manto Sagrado and continue my work is a huge achievement for me. Being part of this group that has become a family, this team that has been growing steadily, striving for more titles each season. Being able to spend another year wearing the Flamengo jersey and being part of this group alongside my great friends is very gratifying. I want to strive to make Flamengo's history and make this team even better," he stated.

Humberto arrives to play in both the Basketball Development League and Adult competitions.

"I was very interested in Flamengo's decision to bring me to the team. The management did everything possible to ensure I joined the squad. Flamengo is the club it is, with the titles it has won in recent years... It's gratifying for any player, any coach, to be at Flamengo, and even more so when they really want you to be a part of it. I'm very happy and eager to see what the work will be like. We have some important competitions, and when we join the club, we try to keep the titles at home. I'm really happy to be going to Flamengo and I want to help, contribute, be another important part of the team, and earn the trust of Neto and the players. I have the best possible expectations. What motivated me most was a Liga das Américas final I went to, and the Maracanãzinho was packed. I really want to play in front of a crowd like that, with the stadium packed, the whole crowd screaming. My biggest expectation is this and to keep the titles and do a good job. Now I'm Mengão!" declared the athlete, excited about the chance to play for the current NBB champions.
