Flamengo plays, this Saturday (22.12), its last game in 2012. Isolated leader of the NBB, with 100% success, the team faces Bauru, at 18 pm, at Ginásio Panela de Pressão, in Bauru (SP), in search of its seventh consecutive victory.
The Rio de Janeiro team is very close to tying a record in the competition: the best start to a championship in history. The record belongs to Brasília, which won its first eight matches in the 2009/2010 NBB season.
This Saturday's opponent, Bauru, has four wins in seven games (57,1% success rate). Rubro-Negro coach José Neto points to the São Paulo team as one of the title contenders:
"We expect a tough game. We'll be facing one of the teams that invested the most to reach the finals of the competition. Furthermore, Bauru has always shown great strength playing at home. But Flamengo is prepared for this challenge and I hope the team can have another good performance in this NBB," said the coach.
After facing Bauru, Flamengo will have a day off until December 27.12th, when they return to training at Gávea. Their next match will be against Tijuca on January 05.01th in Rio de Janeiro.
