FlaBasquete sponsor highlights values shared with Rubro-Negro
By Communication - Official Club Website - inOn Wednesday morning, Estácio's president, Rogério Melzi, met with Flamengo's president, Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, at the university network's head office in Barra da Tijuca for a breakfast to celebrate the partnership. Marketing teams from both institutions and FlaBasquete's world champion athletes also attended the event. After a video featuring highlights from the Rubro-Negra team's golden season and a presentation of Estácio's values, both parties praised the company's support for the sport, which helped them win the League of the Americas and the World Cup, as well as ten state championships.
Coach José Neto and Flamengo's president were honored for their on-court performances. "Although Flamengo is a club with 40 million fans, its core values have long been forgotten. We are restoring this credibility, and seeing you present us with values similar to ours only strengthens this partnership between Estácio and Flamengo. May it be a long-lasting one," stated president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello.
At the meeting, Estácio also reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging the role of sports in education and personal transformation. "May this winning partnership continue. A club with appropriate behavior educates. In partnership with Estácio, it educates even more. Now with 400 students watching Flamengo, it educates even more," declared Melzi.
For Flamengo representatives, Estácio is more than just a supporter; it shares a common identity with the Mais Querido. "We want to be a benchmark, just as Estácio has been doing in the academic world. We want to do our job to the best of our ability and take our partners wherever we go. I hope Estácio will be with us for a long time," said José Neto during breakfast.
"We want to care for the athlete as a whole, not just on the court. We want to care for the psychological and physiological aspects, incorporating science and process into the sport," said Alexandre Póvoa, Vice President of Olympic Sports.
Beyond titles, the focus of the work has been not only on athletes but also on structuring the entire club. Not only on equipment, but mainly on the expertise of the professionals. "We managed to approve a project that aims to establish a reference center for professionals from all our Olympic sports to exchange knowledge and improve our athlete training," explained Director of Olympic Sports Marcelo Vido.
