Flamengo and Franca re-enact NBB and Super8 finals

Rubro-Negro has a favorable record against São Paulo opponents

Flamengo remains in São Paulo this Friday (6) to continue its tour of the interior of the state for two matches of the New Basketball Brazil 12. On the night of last Thursday, Rubro-Negro beat Bauru 79x66, and now heads to the re-edition of the NBB and Super 8 finals from last season, at Ginásio Pedrocão, against Franca. The match takes place this Saturday (7), at 12:50 pm, with broadcast by Band.

Winger Marquinhos, who was unavailable against Bauru, returns to the red-black team for the next match.

"I missed the last match against Bauru due to a slight knee strain, but I'm ready to step into the match against Franca. It's always a tight match, and it'll be even more so because we're in the running for the top spot in the competition. We're training hard and we'll put everything Gustavo has asked of the group on the court," declares the number 11.

Confrontation retrospective

In the history of Novo Basquete Brasil, Flamengo and Franca have faced each other 34 times, with the "Mais Querido" coming out on top 21 of them. This clash is a rematch of last season's NBB and Super8 finals, competitions won by the Rubro-Negro da Gávea. The last time the teams met was in one of these finals, the NBB final, on their opponent's home ground, when Flamengo lifted the trophy after defeating Franca 81-72.
