After beat the Rio Claro, at home, in Gávea, FlaBasquete returns to the court on Wednesday night (18.11). In search of another victory in the New Basketball Brazil (NBB), the Pride of the Nation visits the Liga Sorocabana, at the Gualberto Moreira Gymnasium, in Sorocaba. The match is valid for the 5th round of the qualifying phase of NBB 8 and takes place at 20 pm.

Flamengo's opponents have a mission to accomplish: bounce back from the negative result of the last round. The São Paulo team was defeated at home by Basquete Cearense 70-78. Flamengo, on the other hand, has won two consecutive matches. In the last round, the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium, in Gávea, was packed to watch the 102 to 70 victory over Rio Claro. With JP Batista leading a great collective performance, Orgulho da Nação built a large advantage throughout the match.

Flamengo and Liga Sorocabana have faced each other twice per season since NBB 4. There have been eight clashes, all of which have resulted in Flamengo winning. In the second meeting between the two, in 2012, in Sorocaba, "Mais Querido" won by just one point thanks to a last-ditch shot by David Jackson: 70-71. In March of the following year, " Orgulho da Nação" gave no room to their opponents, winning 102-64 with 22 points from Marquinhos. In the last meeting between the teams, in January 2015, Herrmann scored 23 points and FlaBasquete defeated their opponents 98-73 at Tijuca Tênis Clube.
