By Flamengo Communication - inReturning home, Flamengo hosts Niterói this Wednesday and Thursday (19th and 20th). The Most Beloved will have two consecutive duels, both at 20 pm at the Hélio Maurício gymnasium, in Gávea, to try to secure a place in the grand final of the 2018 Carioca Championship.
The Mais Querido has six wins in six matches played this season. Beating all their opponents in the State Championship so far, the Rubro-Negro has a 100% record, scoring 509 points, conceding 351, and a goal difference of 158.

Niterói is the only winless team in the Campeonato Carioca. However, the team played tough matches against Vasco and Botafogo during the first and second rounds.
In the second round of the State Championship, Flamengo secured a crucial 100-36 victory, confirming their favoritism at the Hélio Maurício gymnasium. In the final round of the points phase, Flamengo secured another 89-56 victory at the opposing gymnasium.
Dispute format
The tournament will be played in two-legged matches, with all teams facing each other at home and away. The semifinals will then be a best-of-three series, with the first-place team facing the fourth-place team and the second-place team facing the third-place team. The final begins on September 25th and will also be played over a maximum of three matches.
