Before the match, winger Jhonatan Luz spoke exclusively to the official website about the upcoming game. Coming from Paulistano, the player noted the differences between this match and the first-round encounter, when Flamengo suffered a defeat in São Paulo. "This game is super important for maintaining our momentum. We know it was a very tough match there. We were still preparing, the team was adapting, and we lacked training time.
