Flamengo is defeated by Paulistano away from home in the NBB
The red-black team returns to the court on the 20th, at Maracanãzinho, for a duel against Minas
By Paulo Neto* - inOn Thursday night (11), Flamengo faced Paulistano in the seventh round of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB), at the Antonio Prado Jr gymnasium, in São Paulo. Despite fighting until the end, the team was defeated 87 to 81, in a very disputed match in all quarters.

Highlights
The standout for Pride of the Nation was point guard Yago, with another 20-point game. The Little Monster also tallied six assists, leading the way in this regard. Olivinha led the way in rebounding with eight.
The game
The match started evenly, with Flamengo taking the lead with a three-pointer from Yago early in the fourth quarter, but in the final stretch of the period, Flamengo regained the lead. The first half ended 24-26. Flamengo subsequently struggled to convert their perimeter shots, converting only one of their ten long-range attempts. Paulistano seized the opportunity to build a ten-point lead, but by the end of the quarter, Flamengo had managed to close the gap. The game went into halftime with the home team up 47-43.
The second half followed a similar pattern: the Pride of the Nation sought to close the gap several times, but struggled with poor field goal shooting, finishing the match with just a 29% success rate on three-point attempts. The 81-87 scoreline sealed the final score.
Next appointment
Flamengo, which had gone 42 games unbeaten, now returns to Rio de Janeiro to begin preparations to face Minas, on Saturday (20), at Maracanãzinho.
