Flamengo is defeated by Pinheiros

Playing away from home, Flamengo was defeated by Pinheiros by 92 x 78, on Friday night (25.02), at the Henrique Vilaboim gym, in São Paulo, in a game valid for the seventh round of the return of the NBB (Novo Basquete Brasil). With the result, Rubro-negro now has 14 wins in 20 games (70% success rate) and now occupies fourth place in the overall standings.

On Sunday, Flamengo returns to the court, against Paulistano, at 11 am, at Clube Paulistano, in São Paulo.

The Red-Blacks were still without American David Teague, who is recovering from a back injury. In Friday's match, Marcelinho led all scorers with 29 points.

After an even start, Pinheiros took the lead in the first quarter: 18-27. Flamengo only managed to find its footing midway through the second half. Marcelinho converted a three-pointer, and the Rio de Janeiro team closed in: 29-30. Then it was Guto's turn to hit a three-pointer, and the red-and-black team turned the score around: 34-32. But Pinheiros took the lead again and went into halftime leading: 47-41.

In the third quarter, Pinheiros opened a 10-point lead: 53 x 43. Flamengo managed to improve (54 x 59), but finished the quarter behind: 59 x 64. In the last quarter, the São Paulo team managed to maintain the advantage until the end: 92 x 78.
