Starting this Wednesday (28), FlaBasquete begins its journey in the NBB playoffs. Against Mogi, Rubro-Negro seeks to qualify for the semifinals of the competition in the best-of-three series. The first clash takes place at 17 pm, at the Maracanãzinho gymnasium, with live broadcast on ESPN. On Friday (30), the two teams meet again at 20 pm, again in Rio de Janeiro, and on Dazn.

Leading the championship's qualifying round, Mais Querido secured a direct spot in the quarterfinals. Their opponents came from the round of 16 clash against Unifacisa, which was decided in the third game.  in the last Sunday.

Two-time NBB champion coach Gustavo De Conti spoke about the expectation of a balanced series.

"Mogi has a very traditional team, consistently achieving excellent results in the NBB. They do very well in the postseason, have very experienced, successful players... and they're also a very strong team physically. They have big, strong, versatile athletes, capable of playing multiple positions; they're a very well-organized team. I think we're going to have a great run," analyzed the coach, citing the Rubro-Negro's good form. "Of course, Flamengo is coming off a very good run of victories, the Champions League title, but past events don't mean anything. We need to rebuild everything to achieve good results going forward, and we're very aware of this, training and preparing ourselves in the best way possible to advance this stage and try to reach the semifinals," he assured.

FlaBasquete is undefeated in 2021, with 26 wins this year. In the NBB, they won 17 consecutive matches in the regular season, the best campaign in the competition's history. In 30 matches, the "Mais Querido" (the most beloved team) has 28 wins, achieving a 93,3% success rate. Having won the State Championship, the Super 8 Cup, and the Champions League of the Americas, the team is aiming for its seventh Brazilian championship as its final mission of the season.
