Flamengo ends its participation in the Brazilian Under-14 Basketball Cup

Mais Querido finished the tournament in ninth place

Flamengo concluded its participation in the Brazilian Under-23 Club Cup this Sunday (14). Playing in Belo Horizonte, the Mais Querido basketball team finished the competition in ninth place overall. During the qualifying phase, FlaBasquete faced Álvares Cabral, from Espírito Santo, Minas Tênis Clube and Mackenzie, from São Paulo. The balance after the stage was one victory and two defeats, leaving Rubro-Negro in third place in the group. 


With this result, Flamengo advanced to the second round, seeking a better final ranking. In the first game, against AADD of Pernambuco, the Garotos da Gávea won 77-39. In the second match, against CSCFN of Rio, they won again 99-43. Concluding their participation in the tournament and the ninth-place match, they won their third consecutive victory against Álvares Cabral, 78-43. 

Now the red-black team resumes training with a view to the second round of the State Basketball Championship and the competitions later in the semester. 

The Flamengo Regatas basketball teams receive funding from their sponsors – Thinkseg, TIM, AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR) and the State Incentive Law/Rio de Janeiro State Secretariat of Sports, Recreation, and Youth (Seelje), as well as support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) through the decentralization of funds from the Pelé Law. The Flamengo Guardian Angel Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the club.
