Flamengo ends the second stage of the LDB with a 100% success rate
After 14 rounds played, Mais Querido is the only undefeated club in the competition

The star of the current edition of the Basketball Development League is Flamengo. After 14 rounds, the "Mais Querido" is the only club with a 100% record. They lead the competition's qualifying phase and have put in some fantastic performances. Last Sunday (August 04.08), Paulo Chupeta's team concluded the second stage of the LDB with a 96-79 victory over Círculo Militar.
"The group is very close and the team is strong. The boys know the importance of doing well in the LDB because they aim for a spot on the senior team. They all believed in my proposal of dedication and overcoming obstacles," said the red-black coach.
As Paulo Chupeta said, the strength of the group stands out. In the last match, for example, five players surpassed the ten-point mark: Léo (17), Chupeta (16), Diego Marques (15), Douglas (14), and Gegê (11). In addition to scoring points, Gegê, who strengthened the team in this second stage of the LDB, dished out 11 assists and earned another double-double.
The third stage of the LDB qualifying phase begins on August 28th and ends on September 1st. During this period, Flamengo will play five home games at the Gávea stadium. Their opponents will be Goiânia, Vitória (ES), Vila Velha, Ginástico, and Minas.
"As the work continues, the teams evolve. Therefore, the next phase is always the most difficult. We are prepared for matches against tough opponents," said the Mais Querido coach.
