After recovering in the NBB, Flamengo returns to the court this Saturday (February 11.02), against Liga Sorocabana, at 15 pm, at Ginásio Dr. Gualberto Moreira, in Sorocaba (SP). With the victory over Bauru (83 x 81), last Thursday (February 09.02), in Bauru, the red-black team took second place in the competition, with 13 wins in 17 games (76,5% success rate), behind only Pinheiros (14 wins in 17 games). A win and a slip-up by the São Paulo team will equal the campaign of the two teams at the top of the standings. Flamengo, however, loses in the head-to-head confrontation.

This Saturday's opponent, Liga Sorocabana, is 10th in the overall standings, with 7 wins in 18 games (38,9% success rate). In the first round, the Rubro-Negro prevailed: 93-55. But coach Gonzalo Garcia dismisses the favoritism.

"Theoretically, Sorocaba isn't among the strongest teams, but playing at home, they've surprised title favorites more than once. So, they're a rival that deserves our utmost care, and to achieve that, we have to maintain our concentration at maximum level," explained the coach.

"We got an important win in Bauru, which kept us in the lead, and we need to keep winning. We have to defend tightly, not give them any space, because they'll come at us. We have to defend well, be alert, and remain calm in attack," added captain Marcelinho.
