Flamengo faces Brasília in the NBB champions' classic
Rubro-Negro needs to stay in the top four to go directly to the quarterfinals

This Saturday morning (March 21.03st), Orgulho da Nação takes to the court for the 27th round of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in the national capital. The team is in fourth place, with 18 wins in 25 matches (72% success rate). The challenge between the only NBB champions, each team with three titles from the six editions so far, promises to be a fierce rivalry.
After their 89-63 victory over Basquete Cearense, Flamengo will be looking for another positive result to maintain their place in the top four and skip the round of 16, advancing directly to the quarterfinals. Brasília, meanwhile, is coming off a narrow victory over Macaé and is looking to mathematically secure their spot in the playoffs.
In the first meeting between the teams in this edition of the NBB, in December 2014, a thrilling game worthy of the rivalry that surrounds the teams. Playing at Tijuca Tênis Clube, Flamengo won 76-74, with a Benite layup in the final second of the match.
"It's a classic in our basketball history, so it doesn't depend on each team's current form. Brasília has a winning history since its inception, and Flamengo is the club with the largest fan base in the country. These are teams that represent the sport and are greatly credited with the resurgence of Brazilian basketball," said shooting guard Marcelinho.
