Flamengo basketball will play for the first time in the 2019/2020 NBB season this Tuesday (12), at 20 pm, at Arena Carioca 2, in Rio de Janeiro alongside its fans. The clash with Pato Basquete, valid for the fifth round of Novo Basquete Brasil 12, marks the first meeting of the teams in the national competition, as Pato is a newcomer to the championship.

Rubro-Negro's opponent is bottom of the table, however, point guard Franco Balbi believes it will be a very important match for Flamengo, which will make a difference in the classification phase.

"It's very important that we play this first game here in Rio, alongside our fans and our family. Pato isn't doing very well yet, but I'm sure they'll improve a lot throughout the competition. It's also good because we don't travel as much, and we have the rest time that allows us to recover much better from one game to the next. That's why it would be important to have our fans here at the Arena supporting the team so we can continue to stay strong in the NBB," declares the Argentine point guard.

Confrontation retrospective

This is the first time Flamengo and Pato Basquete have faced each other in the competition's history. On the opposing side, point guard Gegê, a world champion with Flamengo, reunites with his former team.
