Flamengo faces Paulistano, at Tijuca Tênis Clube, in the NBB quarterfinals

By Helena Petry - inBack at Tijuca Tênis Clube! In its debut in the NBB 14 playoffs, FlaBasquete faces Paulistano this Thursday (28), at 21 pm, in the first match of the competition's quarterfinals. In search of its seventh championship, the Mais Querido relies on the support of the Nation in the historic stands of the gymnasium. Tickets are on sale, starting at 15 reais, at flamengo.superingresso.com.br.
Flamengo finished the qualifying phase of the Novo Basquete Brasil tournament in 2nd place, securing a spot in the quarterfinals. Paulistano, which finished in 7th place, had to advance through the round of 16, winning the best-of-three series 2-1 over 10th-place Rio Claro. From now on, to advance in the competition, teams need three wins in the best-of-five series.
The red-black team trained at Tijuca TC on the morning of this Wednesday (27). After the activity, power forward Túlio da Silva analyzed the duel against the São Paulo team.
"It's going to be a very tough match for us. Paulistano is a very physical team, but we're going to stick to everything we've been working on this past week. We're training really hard to perfect the details we need for these matches, and it's one game after another. Tomorrow is the first one, and we have to go in focused, knowing what we need to do," said the number 7.
Games 2 and 3 of the series against Paulistano will be played on May 1st and 3rd in São Paulo, at the Antônio Prado Jr. Gymnasium. On Sunday, the match will be played at 11 am, while on Tuesday, kickoff will be at 21 pm. In the event of a draw, the decisive matches will be held in Rio de Janeiro, with dates yet to be announced by the LNB.
