Flamengo started its journey in the Copa Brasil de Clubes in the best possible way in this Monday (15), at the Tijuca Tennis Club Gymnasium. Facing Sociedade Thalia, from Paraná, the Crias da Gávea won by a score of 99 to 50 despite having three absences. 

The match began with a stellar performance from point guard Matheusinho. Guiding and dictating the pace of the game, the number 9 was the leading scorer of the period, marked by Flamengo's superiority on both ends of the court. At the final whistle, the score was 21-12 for the Mais Querido. 

Coming back into the second quarter, the Flamengo quintet included Matheusinho, Luiz Henrique, Aprigio, Elias, and Ruan. What was already good, managed to improve. By tightening the defense and increasing its efficiency from the three-point line, FlaBasquete increased its dominance and completely controlled the game, despite the limited rotation. At halftime, Flamengo led 38-25, and point guard Matheusinho had already scored 22 points. 

After the break, the team led by coach Paulo Chupeta simply had to maintain consistency. With good plays from Magno and Lucas Aprigio, the Crias da Gávea team maintained their lead and led the match to victory. The score ended 99-50, and the debut was off to a flying start.

The next opponent of the Crias da Gávea will be Praia Clube this Tuesday (16), at 20 pm, at Tijuca Tênis Clube. Rubro-Negro is looking for a positive result to advance to the next phase.
