Flamengo debuts with victory at the 20th South American Basketball Meeting
Mais Querido's under-13 team beat Pinheiros this Monday (18.07)

The Pride of the Nation, the current five-time NBB champion, may be on vacation, but the Flamengo youth basketball team has just begun an important month of competition. The Mais Querido's under-13, under-14, and under-15 teams will participate in the 20th South American Basketball Meeting in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul. Flamengo's young athletes will compete to stand out in one of the most important competitions in the youth categories.
The first team to debut in the competition was the under-13 team, taking to the court for the first time this Monday (18). The Flamengo boys started well in the competition, winning their first duel, against Pinheiros, by 54 to 35. The red-black team returns to play this Tuesday (19) against Grêmio Náutico União, in the morning, and against the Álvares Cabral team, in the afternoon.
The under-14 and under-15 teams will only begin competition in their categories on July 24th.
The basketball teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – CSN (Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional), Banco Bonsucesso and Brasil Brokers – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
