Flamengo debuts in the Champions League against Instituto de Córdoba in Argentina

Pride of the Nation begins its journey in the continental competition with a focus on the title

FlaBasquete's biggest challenge of the season is about to begin! On Friday night (01), Rubro-Negro will make its Champions League debut, the "Libertadores do Basquete", against Instituto de Córdoba, at 21:30 pm, at the Ángel Sandrin gym. The match will be broadcast on DAZN.

The name is different, the format too, but the competition is a long-time favorite for Flamengo (Liga das Américas). In 2014, the "Mais Querido" (the "Most Beloved") won the title undefeated, defeating Pinheiros at Arena da Barra, 85-78. This historic victory guaranteed a direct spot in the Club World Cup, which they secured months later, also in Rio de Janeiro, against Maccabi Tel Aviv. From the current squad, only Marquinhos and Olivinha were present.

A fan favorite, number 16 promised to do his best to win another trophy:

"The last continental championship we won was the Liga de las Américas, and this year our main objective is the Champions League. The nation can be sure that we will do everything we can to win this title."
