Flamengo will play its second game in the NBB (New Basketball Brazil) this Sunday (November 21.11st). But the match against Vitória, at 11 am, at the HSBC Arena, in Jacarepaguá, will have the flavor of a debut for the team from Gávea. This is because it will be the first time that Flamengo will play in front of its fans in the competition.

Last Wednesday, the team outdid itself and defeated Vila Velha 90-70 in Vila Velha. The team was without four players: shooting guard Duda, point guard Hélio, and power forwards Jefferson and Wagner, who were serving suspensions for the altercation in the third game of last season's final against Brasília in Brasília.

For this Sunday's game, Hélio and Wagner are guaranteed presences. Jefferson, who suffered a right thigh injury during the first stage of the South American League, is expected to be confirmed in the team this Saturday (November 20.11). Duda, in turn, will not play. The point guard is still recovering from the sprained right ankle suffered in Flamengo's opening game in the League on October 29.10, against Malvin (URU).

"It will be very important to have these players, as the team has been playing at its limit. This is an important game, especially because it will be our home debut," said coach Paulo Chupeta, who praised the opponent.

"Vitória has a well-assembled team and, despite the defeat (92 x 78), they played a good match against Minas. They have good players, like point guard Guilherme," added Chupeta.

After the match against Vitória, Flamengo turns its attention to the final stage of the South American League, from November 24th to 28th, at the HSBC Arena in Rio. Host of the competition, Flamengo only debuts in the second round, on the 25th, against Boca Juniors (ARG). The two teams are in Group A, which also includes Franca. Group B includes Brasília, Quimsa (ARG), and Espartamos (VEN).
