Flamengo concluded its participation in the second round of the Basketball Development League this Saturday (25), defeating Praia Clube, from Uberlândia. With a score of 82 to 70, the Mais Querido won its second consecutive victory and advanced to the final stage of the competition. Center João Victor led the U-20 team in the match, with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Danilo, Assunção and Amorim also stood out, scoring 13, 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Coach Rodrigo Silva commented on Rubro-Negro's participation in the competition so far.

"We achieved our goal, which was to finish in the top eight. I'm proud of the team, and the improvement from game to game was noticeable. These two consecutive wins at the end were very important for the boys' morale, as we had suffered tough defeats in the previous days," says the coach.

Flamengo finished the qualifying round in eighth place and will face the first-, fourth-, and fifth-place teams in Group C of the final round: Paulistano, Minas Tênis Clube, and São José. The final will take place from February 20 to 25, 2018, at the Antonio Prado Jr. Gymnasium in São Paulo.
