Flamengo remains at the top of the NBB with a 100% record. On Thursday night (20.12), the Rubro-negro defeated Liga Sorocabana 87 x 59, in Sorocaba (SP), and achieved its sixth consecutive victory in the competition. On Saturday (22.12), Flamengo plays its last game of 2012, against Bauru, at 18 pm, at the opponent's home.
The game started an hour late due to heavy rain in Sorocaba and a power outage in the gymnasium. Flamengo dominated throughout, leading the four quarters with scores of 25-11, 47-30, 66-48, and 87-59. Marquinhos led all scorers with 23 points.
"It was a very important victory to maintain the team's good form in the championship. Flamengo has been growing as a team to overcome the difficulties this season presents. I'm pleased with the dedication and commitment of everyone: players and coaching staff," said coach José Neto.
