Flamengo, a team competing in the Basketball Development League (LDB), achieved its sixth consecutive victory this Sunday afternoon (28.12). The Pride of the Nation faced Tijuca and beat its opponent 87-56. Rubro-Negro won for the 11th time in the championship, in 15 games, again with great performances from the trio Daniel, Chupeta and Diego, the top scorer of the match.

The game

With a fast-paced first and second quarters, Flamengo took the lead early in the match. While Chupeta grabbed the rebounds for Flamengo, Diego settled the score with his baskets. With that, Flamengo closed the first half with a 49-22 lead.

The return of the match saw a Tijuca team motivated to turn the game around. However, Flamengo's tactical consistency prevented the opposing team from developing. Even with a two-point loss in the third quarter, the red-and-black team didn't slow down. With solid assists from Daniel, Flamengo closed the final half 24-18, and the game 87-56. The Pride of the Nation's next match in the LDB takes place this Monday (December 29.12), against Franca Basquete, at 15 pm, at Tênis Clube Macaé.

Although pleased with the result, coach Paulo Chupeta made a point of emphasizing that there's still a lot of work to be done. "Our goal is undoubtedly to finish among the top four. We're doing our part; we just have to hope that the results in other venues will help us. We have some very tough rivals here in Macaé, and we still have one more stage to go to try to reach our goal."
