In a match marked by numerous lead changes, Flamengo fought until the end but couldn't secure victory in its debut in the Basketball Development League (LDB). Limeira prevailed in the final moments, defeating Flamengo 66-63 at Praia Clube in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. Flamengo's standout performers included point guard Pablo, with 16 points, and forward Rodrigo, with 11.
After falling behind in the first quarter (10-16), Flamengo managed to turn the score around, closing the second quarter at 21-8. In the second half, Limeira fought back, and the match remained evenly matched. The match entered the final three minutes with the teams separated by just one point, and that remained the case until the final moments. Strong on defense and scoring on two consecutive attacks, Flamengo opened up a significant four-point lead with less than 24 seconds remaining (65-61). Flamengo tried to rally, but the Limeira team held on to their advantage and left the court with the victory.
The Mais Querido team will try to recover this Saturday (25.07), in the duel against Rio Claro Basquete, at 16 pm.
