On Saturday afternoon (1), Flamengo faced Brasília at Arena Amadeu Teixeira, in Manaus, for the last round of the qualifying phase of Novo Basquete Brasil 9. In a duel disputed from start to finish, Mais Querido was defeated by 77 to 71.

The first quarter was very balanced between the teams. With little point advantage, the teams remained tied at 20-20. The second period, also close, continued with the score tied. Despite a good performance from Marquinhos, the standout player of the match, Flamengo went into halftime tied again, 38-38.

With numerous fouls, the final two periods followed the same pattern as the first half, and Flamengo battled for the win until the very end. However, Brasília managed to prevail in the decisive minutes and won 77-71.

Notably, Marquinhos finished the game with 17 points and 7 assists. Olivinha scored 15 points and Ricardo Fischer had 7 assists. In rebounds, Rafael Mineiro was the best with 8, followed by JP Batista with 7, and Hakeem Rollins with 6.

The result, however, did not change Flamengo's lead in the NBB CAIXA qualifying phase. Now Flamengo, already qualified for the quarterfinals, awaits the winner of the best-of-five series between Pinheiros and Vasco.
