The first quarter was dominated by the São Paulo team, which opened up a large lead on the scoreboard and managed to hold off the red-black team's offensive power, winning with a partial score of 36 to 13. The second period was very even, but Flamengo was unable to close the gap, going into the break with Franca winning 53 to 32.
The second half of the match also featured evenly matched periods and a close battle. With standouts from JP Batista (22 points and eight rebounds), Arthur Pecos (14 points, five rebounds and four assists) and Henrique Pilar (11 points), the Mais Querido fought to close the gap, but ended the third quarter trailing 75-51. In the final period, the São Paulo team controlled the result and the tempo, winning 100-82.
Flamengo's next challenge will be on Saturday (30), at 14 pm, when Mais Querido hosts Vasco at Arena Carioca 1, in the Barra Olympic Park. Tickets are now on sale for the match, which will be attended exclusively by red-black fans.
