It didn't work out for Flamengo. The Red-Black team was defeated by Botafogo 81-77 this Saturday at Tijuca Tênis Clube, failing to secure its spot in the Novo Basquete Brasil final.

Marquinhos, with 17 points, was Flamengo's top scorer in the match. Franco Balbi and Nesbitt each scored 10 points.

Flamengo and Botafogo face off again on Tuesday at 21 p.m. at Ginásio Oscar Zelaya, the club's home ground. A victory will see Flamengo qualify for the final.

Franca, who beat Mogi in the other semifinal, awaits the winner of the match between Flamengo and Botafogo.
