In a tightly contested first quarter, the Macaé team took the lead with a three-point shot. Even after falling eight points behind, the Pride of the Nation remained undeterred and turned the score around in a resounding fashion. With a strong performance by Marcelinho and point guard Nico Laprovittola, the first half ended 20-16 for the Red-Blacks.

The first quarter's result seemed to boost Flamengo's confidence. The team's tireless captain, Marcelinho, was a force to be reckoned with, and, repeating his strong performance from the first half, the winger allowed the defending champions to open up a ten-point lead, leading into the second half with a 43-29 lead.

The third quarter arrived, and with it a Macaé team determined to change the outcome. Even with José Neto's team making some substitutions to liven up the game, and center Meyinsse's spirited performance on the court, the home team prevailed 25-22.

From that moment on, the game heated up even more. Hoping to turn the tables, Macaé began to put pressure on the red-and-black team. On the other side, Herrmann and Marcelinho tried to make things a little more difficult. But, with so much persistence, with two seconds remaining, the team from the mountains took the lead with a three-pointer. Final score: 86-84 for Macaé.

The NBB 7 is on year-end recess, with the return scheduled for January. Flabasquete's next match will be against the Rio Claro team in São Paulo on January 7th at 20 pm.
