FlaBasquete lost the first Clássico dos Milhões of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB) to Vasco, 78 to 77, in a very disputed duel that was decided in the last seconds. Held on the afternoon of this Saturday (28), the postponed match was valid for the 10th round of the qualifiers. Rio Arena did not receive fans by order of the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro.
Flamengo entered the court once again with three important absences: Marcelinho Machado, Ricardo Fischer and Humberto, who are recovering from injury, and also the North American pivot Hakeem Rollins, who was not registered in the NBB on the original date of the match.
The Rubro-Negro started the match much better and finished the first quarter with twice the score of their rival: 22 to 11. In the second period, the Cruzmaltino fought back and the teams were evenly matched until Vasco's comeback in the third quarter. The match remained very even in the fourth quarter and was only decided in the final seconds.
Despite the negative result, Marquinhos was the top scorer of the classic, with 27 points, and Olivinha had a great performance, reaching another double-double in this NBB, with 14 points and 17 rebounds.
Now Flamengo faces Pinheiros, next Thursday (2), in São Paulo.
