Flamengo loses to Basquete Cearense in the 3rd round of the LDB final octagonal
In a tough game, youngsters from the youth academy fail to overcome their opponents and remain in second place

The game began with Basquete Cearense holding a large lead. In the first quarter, the northeastern team scored 15 points, compared to Flamengo's only 5. But the comeback came in the following quarter: With 7 points from Mingau, Flamengo scored 19 points and closed in on their opponents, finishing the first half just 2 points behind: 26 to 24.
In the third quarter, Flamengo came from behind. Felício scored 8 of the 10 points for Flamengo in the period. Basquete Cearense didn't let themselves get carried away and regained the lead at the end of the quarter. The second half began with the scoreboard showing 37-34 for Ceará. The teams battled point-by-point. With just 30 seconds remaining, Flamengo tied the game. In the last second, Chupeta blocked the ball, keeping the score tied and sending the match into overtime.
In overtime, the same pattern of play was repeated. Every ball was contested, and just when it seemed Basquete Cearense would take the lead, Flamengo closed the gap again. Despite Felício's double-double (16 points and 13 rebounds), the Ceará team finished 5 points ahead, 59-54.
Even with the defeat, Flamengo remains in second place in Group B of the LDB octagonal and advances to the next phase, the Final Four.
