Flamengo will host a historic match for the NBB. The team hosts Brasília this Thursday (13.12/21) at 1.000 pm at Tijuca Tênis Clube in the 2008th match of the tournament, created in the 2009/XNUMX season. An added attraction for one of the greatest rivalries in Brazilian basketball today. Sportv will broadcast live.

Before the match, the National League will pay tribute to players and coaches from both teams who have made their mark on the history of the NBB. For Flamengo, the following will be honored: Marcelinho, the first player to reach 1000 points in the competition; Olivinha, the first player to reach 1000 rebounds; and Paulo Chupeta, the first coach to win the tournament. For Brasília, the honorees are Arthur, the player who has played the most games in the NBB so far (160 games); Alex, the only player to win four consecutive awards for best defender; and José Vidal, the only coach to win two NBB titles.

"The rivalry between Flamengo and Brasília has been built over the years. And it's only growing stronger. This season alone, we've faced each other three times (in a friendly and twice in the South American League), and every game has the flavor of a final. I believe the next match, being a celebratory one, will give both teams even more motivation to seek victory. It will be another very tough game, and I hope Flamengo comes out on top," said center Shilton.

The player also made his mark in the history of the NBB. He holds the record for most rebounds in a single game: 21. This was in 2009, when Shilton was still playing for Joinville, in the match in which his team defeated Limeira 77-63.

"The championship is improving every year and I believe that this number can be beaten, but I hope to keep my name in the history of the NBB for some time to come," joked the pivot.

Flamengo is undefeated in the competition, with two wins in as many matches. The team is coming off a positive result against Franca, last Monday (10.12), at the opponent's home. After the match against Brasília, the Rubro-negro returns to the court on Saturday (15.12), against Mogi, at 19:30 pm, in Tijuca.
