"These two home games are crucial for us, aiming for qualification. In the first window, we came away with a win and a loss, finishing first in the group, and now we have two home games, in front of our fans. FlaBasquete at BCLA
After two matches played in Montevideo, the Pride of the Nation reached first place in Group C with a victory over Peñarol and a loss to Instituto, giving them the upper hand on points. Now, they need home wins to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
Flamengo won the Champions League title in 2021, defeating Real Estelí in Nicaragua. In the previous edition, they took silver. In 2022, the Red-Black team reached the Final 8, but was defeated by Minas Gerais in the quarterfinals. Now, Gustavo De Conti's team is looking to return to the top of the competition and secure their place in the Intercontinental Cup once again. FlaBasquete is a two-time world champion, having won in 2014, when they won the Liga das Américas, the previous version of the BCLA, and in February 2022.
With 12 participating teams, the fourth edition of the Champions League has four groups with three teams each. Real Estelí (NIC), Honey Badgers (CAN) and Querétaro (MEX) make up group A, while Biguá (URU), Minas (BRA) and Quimsa (ARG) are in group B. In group D, Franca (BRA), Obras (ARG) and Universidad de Concepción (CHI).
All clubs host a group stage. The top two teams from each group advance to the quarterfinals, which will be played in a best-of-three format in March. The winners qualify for the Final 4, which will feature semifinals, a bronze medal match, and a final, in April.
