Playing at the Olympico gymnasium, the red-and-black team debuted by crushing Curitibano by a score of 122-27. In the second match, Mais Querido emerged victorious against BNB Clube Fortaleza by a score of 83-44. Closing the group stage, the team from Gávea defeated Sogipa 76-22, finishing the first stage of the competition with a 100% record.
In the quarterfinals, the red-black team faced Instituto Viva Vida, from Espirito Santo, and won by a score of 67x37, advancing to the semifinals of the tournament.
