Flamengo secured its place in the top four of the qualifying round with another victory in the Basketball Development League (LDB) this Saturday morning at Arena Minas. Against Joinville, the red-and-black team once again dominated the match, resulting in an impressive 113-48 score. The team's standouts were Diego, who topped the scoring charts with 30 points, along with eight rebounds and eight assists, and Chupeta, who had 28 points and 19 rebounds, recording a double-double. With this result, Flamengo's under-22 team achieved its 17th positive result in 23 matches (73,9% shooting), with 40 points. Depending on certain results, the club could even finish third.
"I owe a lot of my performance to the team. Today we came here to play strong the whole time because we wanted to solve some problems we've had in recent games. We managed to do that very well. Our best characteristic is our defense, and that's a result of the entire team," said Diego, who celebrated qualifying. "Mission accomplished. That was the goal we set at the beginning of the competition, and we achieved it. Congratulations to the whole team for this, and now we'll prepare for the final stage, which will certainly be very difficult," he concluded.

The second quarter was practically a repeat: with standout performances from Chupeta, Alef, and Diego, the team imposed its rhythm and closed the quarter at 26-9.
After halftime, Flamengo came back even stronger. Danielzinho scored 13 points and Diego added 15, not to mention the team's defensive prowess, which included 12 rebounds. The score was an incredible 42-10. With the victory assured, Flamengo controlled the result in the final quarter, and Joinville managed a more even period (21-20 for the Red-Blacks), but nothing that could shake the Mais Querido's undisputed triumph.
