Flamengo is the great champion of the NBB Opening Tournament. On Saturday night (4), Mais Querido played its best match in the competition and beat Minas 86 to 68, at Arena BRB Nilson Nelson, in Brasília, winning the first title of the 2025/26 season.
Rubro-Negro controlled the game from start to finish, both offensively and defensively, and confirmed their perfect record: four wins in four games in the Federal Capital. Alexey Borges was once again the team's standout performer, scoring 17 points and being named the tournament's MVP (Most Valuable Player).
On the court, celebrating the victory with his teammates, Gui Deodato celebrated the achievement and praised the group's performance.
"This tournament is always welcome. The players unanimously agree that we prefer to prepare by playing. I'm happy because we've started to develop a team spirit, an identity. It's always good to win; playing for Flamengo is just that: winning. This preseason, we've only been home for a few days, close to our families, but the most important thing is to put Flamengo where it deserves to be: at the top. Knowing that there's still a long way to go, a lot to improve, we're still short of our potential," he concluded.
Now, Flamengo is preparing for its debut in the NBB, against Bauru, away from home, on October 18th.
